Thanks for the very nice component. I am finding it very useful.
I realize that this post is pretty old, but I would also like to voice my hope for such a function to be included. Term aliases would help to simplify the process of definitions substantially.
My implementation of the component is to provide an abridged Family Tree on a family site in which names of family members are routinely brought up, but usually not in a consistent manner. A person whose name is Bill, would also have references to the name William, Will, Willy, Billy, or possibly other nicknames.
I am sure the same would apply to references to many terms in other types of implementation. An example can be found with abbreviated terms (i.e. API) or terms which have known colloquial variations.
