Image uploads for Remository? - 2007/11/25 20:27 I'd like the ability for a user to upload a screen shot with their file. Rather than linking an image with the wysiwyg editor.

is this possible? If so would it also be possible to still have it generate and display a thumbnail that when clicked opens in another window?

I am willing to pay for this feature if it can be done.

Re:Image uploads for Remository? - 2007/11/27 00:22 Ultimately I would like to have the image shown as a thumbnail in the download view. When clicked the thumbnail would take you to a full image view. Even better would be the ability to have three screen shots uploaded, and viewable with thumbnails from the download view. Also it is important that these images are uploaded to my site rather than linked from another.

Is this possible? If so is it much work?

Re:Image uploads for Remository? - 2007/11/27 08:27 Remository 3.43 has the option to have any upload that is a graphic file automatically create a thumbnail.

The ability to upload graphic files as thumbnails along with a file upload is partly coded but I have not had time to complete it.

To discuss sponsoring completion of this development, please email me (you'll find the address in any of the Remository code or in the admin display of installed components).

Re:Image uploads for Remository? - 2008/07/04 02:07 I also love the idea of inserting software screenshot images in the file description.

But Remository component seems has no the feature of generating thumbnail for bigger image and expanding the thumbnail if clicked.

I tested the latest Remository component v3.44.4J (shows 3.44.3 in the xml file) on Joomla! 1.5.3 today. I inserted a big image to the file description, but it was cropped when viewing at frontend. There is no thumbnail, and no expanding/pop-up effect, the image at frontend was unclickable.

Hope the author will improve this feature.

I think it will be easier if you allow the Remository use those mambot/plugin for Joomla! com_content component. For example, you can allow Multithumb mambot to take effect in the file description, so it can handle bigger images properly. You can also allow All Videos mambot to take effect, so we can insert audio/video clips in the file descriptions.

Thanks.
